spcaos

Remastering SP CAOS “Demo 1984” on Nada Nada Discos and Spicoli Discos.

“One of the most cult brazilian demo-tapes, recorded in january 1984 by Redson (Cólera) at his own Estudios Vermelhos and remastered from the original master cassette tape by Daniel Husayn. Some of these songs were released in many compilation tapes in Finland, France and Brazil. The band was heavily influenced by Finnish hardcore, but the raw recording give it a unique Brazilian touch to the songs. These songs are absolute raw, primitive, hardcore punk chaos in the most perfect, beautiful way. Vocalist, Anselmo, later became the bass player of INOCENTES and FOGO CRUZADO.”

osreplicantes

Remastering Os Replicantes “Compacto 1985” on Nada Nada Discos.

This is one of my favourite Brazilian punk bands and it is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to work on remastering from the original tapes this important part of early Brazilian punk history. This classic 7in is very difficult to find and thanks to the hard work of Nada Nada discos has now been reissued with every aspect of the original restored and refreshed from the audio to the artwork.

“Os Replicantes are an influential Brazilian Punk rock band formed in 1983 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul by Wander Wildner (vocals/guitar), Herón Heinz (bass), and Carlos Gerbase (drums).

One of their first actions was the establishment of an independent label, Vórtex. In 1985, they released an EP with the songs “Nicotina”, “Rock Star” , “O Futuro É Vórtex” e “Surfista Calhorda”. The latter broke into radio stations around the country, making the Replicantes known throughout Brazil. Their debut LP, “O Futuro é Vórtex”, came out in 1986 on BMG Ariola. Then, they released “Histórias de Sexo e Violência” (1987), which caused a fuss in the media, and “Papel de Mau” (1989) on the same label.”

Sperma

Remastering Sperma “Züri Punx” on Static Age Records.

“Originally released in 1979 on Urs Steiger’s label Another Swiss Label the punk anthem “Züri Punx” (“Zyt from flower power ish verbii / Woodstock ish shit GSII …”) by the group Sperma. This song expressed with his musical directness and their slogans like lyrics (“They träumed vo Punk and Anarchy”) very nicely the fierce determination of the first round. The following year, the song reappeared again with a new B- side (Sinnlos insteed of Bombs). Today, 35 years later Static Age Musik from Berlin did release for the first time all 3 songs on a single in an edition of 500 copies with the two original covers and some liner notes.”

Potential Threat

Remastering Potential Threat “Demand an Alternative” on Beat Generation.

“First ever reissue since its official edition on Conflict’s label Mortarhate Records. 13 tracks of absolutely great and fast punk played as it has to be played, with high energy and rage. Limited edition to 500 copies, replica from insert and artwork. 180 grs. vinyl. POTENTIAL THREAT were formed in Blackburn in 1981, and recorded a couple of 7″ between 1982 and 1985. They played a lot of gigs with different bands as Discharge (their main influence in Pauline’s own words), Conflict, Crass and so on. The band started to be recognized by the punk fans especially in U.K. and got some great feedback as their gigs were totally wild and out of control. After different line-up changes, the band recorded this fucking ace LP in 1985 under the mighty Mortarhate label with a running of 1000 copies that were sold in few months. This is the first ever official re-issue from the album, with the same artwork and insert in a limited edition of 500 copies.”

The Vultures

Remastering The Vultures “At Home” on La Vida Es Un Mus Records.

“Official reissue of another of the scarcest Dutch punk records that was listed in the top 25 European punk rarities in Record Collector. THE VULTURES hailed from Epe, in the middle of the Dutch Bible-Belt. They recorded this 4 Track EP in 1981 that overtime has became impossible to find. Which is a shame as it is simply a masterpiece of Dutch Punk. Loud, proud and snotty, the sound is based around a trademark chainsaw guitar tone, plodding bass, passionate vocals and overall a clear UK influence. Without doubt if this band was english they would have been on Riot City, Rot or Secret Records or seen supporting the MAU MAUS, THE EXPLOITED or both DISORDER’s (Bristol and North East). Reissued replicating the artwork as originally printed but adding a few unseen full colour pictures on the reverse sleeve.”

Quango 12%22

Remastering Quango “Fatality (12″)” on Danger Records.

“Originally released in 2013 as a 7″ on First World Problems. The 12” includes the unreleased ripper, ‘Viva Il Papa’ from the same session.

Iron Boots

Remastering Iron Boots “Complete Discography LP” on Grave Mistake Records.

“The IRON BOOTS Complete Discography LP is a 20 song collection containing every recording the band had released. For the uninitiated, IRON BOOTS hailed from in Virginia Beach, VA and were most active from 2004-2006 before playing their final show in Richmond in 2008. With their hi-impact, fuck-your-attitude delivery and NYHC influenced songwriting (open your eyes, they sounded exactly like WARZONE, and wore that label proudly), the Boots were one of few contemporary hardcore bands that were able to take influence from classic hardcore punk and successfully make it their own. In their short career, Iron Boots managed to churn out an impressive catalog – an eight song demo, two 7” EPs, and two tracks for a Revelation Records compilation – all of which are featured on this release, remastered by Daniel Husayn at North London Bomb Factory. The release also features brand new cover art by Spoiler and includes both a printed inner sleeve and giant 24×24 inch double sided lyric sheet / poster. Iron Boots took pride in maintaining a classic “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach to hardcore in both songwriting and aesthetic. The end result being, as proven on this reissue, a timeless recorded and visual output that still maintains a fresh and vital feel more than a decade later.”
