DysneaBoys

Mastering Dysnea Boys “Forgot How to Read” on Take it Back Records.

“Lead singer Jason Honea from the San Francisco Bay Area was the former front man of California skate rock legends Social Unrest. His unique vocal style is instantly recognizable and makes the Dysnea Boys sound true to their musical roots. Bass player C.C. Voltage (formerly of the Spitfires/Black Halos/Loyalties) and Chris Frey (formerly of Radio Berlin/Book of Lists/Sludge) are both former Vancouverites who met in Berlin to collaborate on a new project with Honea.

The band plays classic 80s skate punk that will surely please fans of Social Unrest, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Agent Orange, and Adolescents.”

Hysterese

Mastering Hysterese S/T LP on Taken By Surprise, Sabotage, and Dirt Cult Records.

“At last, it was about time, Hysterese strike back with their second s/t 12“. Three years after the stunning demo tape + the debut 12“, countless shows all over Europe and some line up changes they did it again, 10 songs in about 25 minutes. Melodic Punk with teeth, some say garage some say hardcorepunk? Who cares? dual male / female vocals past all description, noisy simple guitar tunes and a rumbling rhythm section, packed in a nice heavy cardboard sleeve. Driving, melodic punk/hardcore (but NOT “melodic hardcore” if ya get the distinction) with dark, swirling undercurrents. Catchy but not at all vapid. Sounding like a cross between Portland, Southern California, and Copenhagen, you could compare this to bands like THE OBSERVERS, NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS, GORILLA ANGREB, or ADOLESCENTS…”

Dry Heaves

Mastering a new Dry Heaves 7″.

For those of you who haven’t heard them, check out a song from their last 7″, mastered here.

“Max rock and roll review:

DRY HEAVES – “Medicated Youth” EP
Holy shit this is good. DRY HEAVES remind me a lot fellow countrymen from the now defunct SHITTY LIMITS. Playing a fast old hardcore punk sound with odes to MINOR THREAT and the ADOLESCENTS, yet still keeping in a modern DIY feel, DRY HEAVES deliver one great 7″. All the classic subjects are tackled here: people who talk too much; kids being drugged by their parents so they are normal; and the song “Graft”is the classic ode to not wanting to a get a regular job like society tells ya. Oh yeah, this record rocks. (JF)”
