Diät Positive Disintegration

Mastering Diät “Positive Disintegration” on Iron Lung Records.

Recorded at Dong Xuan Productions by Tobias Lill.

“Years in the making, the follow-up or maybe even companion piece to 2015’s “Positive Energy”, “Positive Disintegration” sees the band with a bit more of a pop zap to the ever present post punk dreariness of modern Berlin life… Or even modern life at large as most of the lyrical content has to do with the monotony of barely getting by or trying to have a meaningful exchange with a remotely interesting person. These things are hard to come by most of the time and this music eats at that very feeling. It’s almost enough to make you wanna throw in the towel and move to Spain without a care in the world to haunt your remaining days. You probably won’t though, you’ll most likely listen to this record while you sip your overpriced room temperature coffee drink whilst ordering new bulbs for your anti depression lamp from a major online retailer. It just feels like life is getting away from you, ya know? Dark.”

Diat

Mastering Diät “Positive Energy” on Iron Lung and Adagio830 Records.

“The long awaited debut full length has finally arrived. And the wait was well worth it. Diät have worked, worked and reworked these 8 songs until they were perfect. Who is this band you ask? Let us introduce you:
“Brought together by a shared enthusiasm for bleak UK punk and a history of playing in hardcore bands, Berlin based DIÄT have created a sound that they have described, perhaps not entirely seriously, as ‘tough new wave’. Fans of Crisis, Killing Joke and The Mob (UK) should be pleased by the band’s unlikely synthesis of depressive drift and cranked, accelerated energy.
‘Positive Energy’ was recorded last Winter while huddled in a practice space overlooking the industrial landscape of frozen East Berlin, the album finds Diät reining in the threads of malignant enthusiasm still peppered throughout their earlier recordings (both 7″s previously released on this fine imprint) to focus on the cynicism and dejectedness that binds them as a band.”
Packaged in a high quality reverse board jacket with a 12 page lyric booklet only available in this version of the LP. All copies on black vinyl. The download comes with the “Hurricane” video as well.
Art: Jes. Sounds: Duckface. Mastered: Husayn. Video: West.”

A New Love Triangle Song!

Listen to a song off the debut Love Triangle LP that was recorded and mixed care of North London Bomb Factory and  just finished.

The LP should be out sometime this summer on Static Shock and Sorry State Records.

Recording The Love Triangle LP!

The Love Triangle are a 3-piece garage punk band from the UK, which features two members of The Shitty Limits, as well as members of bands The Sceptres and Fashion  They have put out 4 tapes and one 7″ on Dire Records, all of which are worth buying, as they make fantastic scuzzy punk rock similar to bands like Wipers mixed with a more 60s style influence. It’s almost hard to recognise Shitty Limits vocalist EOT’s voice (I can only find his initials) on these tracks singing in an almost melodic style, instead of barking into the microphone.”

In the mean time, have a listen to a few of their recent singles, that is, if you haven’t already!

“OUT IN JUNE

Rarely does an unsolicited emailing of tracks from Europe even raise an eyebrow but No Accent and Pick A Line really knocked us over. Expertly tight catchy drumming, cold as ice monotone pitch perfect post-punk vocals and a rhythm section that would make James Brown mush-mouthier with jealousy. Sorta sounds like “Mesh & Lace” MODERN ENGLISH playing CRISIS covers but with smarter lyrics. We heard a rumor that DIÄT formed with the sole (and lofty) purpose of playing with TOTAL CONTROL in Berlin, where they’re from. I could believe the story since 2/3 of the band are actually Australian but I choose not to because the songs are too good to be so casual about. This band will do great things starting now.
ILR is proud to debut this power trio to the world.

Here is a preview of the forthcoming Diät 7″ out on Iron Lung Records!

“DIÄT will be touring around Spain in May (8th-13th) with NO. Will we get to see any of these shows? No. They should have a special tour version of the upcoming 7” to be released on Iron Lung Records. Real version out by June. Until then please enjoy the B-side track entitled “No Accent”. (pssst, they are foreigners so you know there is a big ol’ accent or two flyin’ around, you just know it)”
