“San Francisco punk outfit Synthetic ID released their self-titled debut EP back in February on Cut The Cord That… Records, ripping through three tracks in six minutes flat with what is a beautiful cacophony of raw, frenetic guitars, fiercely pounded drums, and jerky yet oddly melodic vocals.

After cutting their original demo (via) last year, the band had it mastered by Daniel Husayn of Hajji Husayn Mastering in London (Husayn is also bassist for Portland-born punk act The Red Dons), and the result is stunning. Check out “Throwaway”, the record’s third track, a spasmodic reminder to stay humble:

Synthetic ID is playing four upcoming shows in the Bay Area, including gigs at Bottom of the Hill (supportingTerry Malts) and the Hemlock (opening for Uzi Rash and Austinites The Young), as well as an all-ages show at Oakland’s 1 2 3 4 Go! Records. Check out full details after the jump, and then grab a copy of their EP eitherdigitally or on 7″ vinyl.
