Traitre Maxi 12in.jpg

Mastering Traitre “Dors Bien” on Les âmes d’Atala.

Taken from American Oi:

“In my previous review I already warned you guys that not one, but two Traitre seven inches will hit the streets this March. Where the first one is a two-track single, the second release, “Dors Bien”, is a full-blown EP with four brand new tracks! LADA Records, who also brought us the first two Traitre 45’s in 2014, has this slab of wax set for release on March 15th and comes in a total of 500 copies.

I already mentioned in my review on the “Humain En Vue” b/w “Un Pays À Détruire” single that Traitre delivered their best work to date. Since that 7” is coming out two weeks prior to “Dors Bien” I wasn’t exactly telling a lie, but I definitely think they top that single with this release! Because where “Humain En Vue” stood out with superb melodies, the “Dors Bien” EP stands out through sheer melancholy.

With hints of Manchester-alike post-punk mixed in their sound, there’s an apocalyptic feel to Traitre’s blend of Oi! and streetpunk that strongly reminds me of Criminal Damage and Blitz with a small touch of Warsaw / Joy Division to it. It’s funny how this band can merge completely different influences into each release, but still sound 100% Traitre. They amaze me with every single, EP or demo that has been released so far and “Dors Bien” is no exception!

Therefor I truly hope that Traitre will hit the studio soon again to record their first ever full-length album, because these guys sound more ready than ever! Don’t miss out on these guys and pick up “Dors Bien” and the single for Build Me A Bomb Records the moment they come out, you won’t regret it!”

“Originally released in 2013 as a 7″ on First World Problems. The 12” includes the unreleased ripper, ‘Viva Il Papa’ from the same session.
Recommended if you like: WARSAW, CRISIS, RONDOS, SIX MINUTE WAR.”

Miscalculations

Mastering Miscalculations second LP “2”.

What they said about the first LP:

“Miscalculations- S/T LP.  Ambitious effort from these London pukes.  MISCALCULATIONS bash out 12 snotty, bruising Punk Rock hits spat in yer face by a couplea fucks from THE GAGGERS.  Top tier, rapid-fire, Snot Punk that’s got The Dickies, Buzzcocks and The Boys spastic, hyperactive charm smeared all over it – but with a very seething, morose, outlook that works well with the ferocious, poppy grit of the music. Jittery, razor-sharp Wire/Gang of Four/Wipers guitar tangents weave in and out of the songs that are all held together by snarling, bouncy First-Wave lunacy, bristling with fresh ideas and a poetic, melodic biteClever, creative song writing reigns supreme on this snearing, fuck-tastic ripper that’s one of the gnarliest examples of modern day Punk Rock done right.   File under “Good Shit”.”

Miscalculations

Mastering Miscalculations second LP “A View For Glass Eyes”.

“Featuring Members of Gaggers, Ladykillers and Disco Lepers, this band from London is the perfect combination of ’77 UK Punk and the dark guitar/synthesizer Post Punk of nowadays. It’s like singer Marco says: “it’s a blend of post punk a la Wire, Joy Division mixed with some electro in the vein of the Units, Screamers, Vicious Visions and a dose of Scandinavian / Euro punk like Masshysteri, Tristess, Invasionen etc.””

“Miscalculations were formed in a dark, asbestos-lined basement in Harlow and a towering loft overlooking the concrete, steel and flesh of North London. Absorbing their environment, watching analysing and calculating. Miscalculating.

Featuring members of The Gaggers, Ladykillers and Shanghai Wires, Miscalculations capture the cynicism, obscurity and perplexity of their surroundings and filter it down to the purest punk form. Agitated yet melodic, Miscalculations are sharp as a surgeon’s blade.
They take cues from early punk rock, electro punk and contemporary punk mixing the sounds of The Units, Screamers, Warsaw, The Vicious, Masshysteri, Tristess and Vicious Visions with the depth and abstruseness of a Francis Bacon painting. Accurately miscalculated.”
