Potential Threat

Remastering Potential Threat “Demand an Alternative” on Beat Generation.

“First ever reissue since its official edition on Conflict’s label Mortarhate Records. 13 tracks of absolutely great and fast punk played as it has to be played, with high energy and rage. Limited edition to 500 copies, replica from insert and artwork. 180 grs. vinyl. POTENTIAL THREAT were formed in Blackburn in 1981, and recorded a couple of 7″ between 1982 and 1985. They played a lot of gigs with different bands as Discharge (their main influence in Pauline’s own words), Conflict, Crass and so on. The band started to be recognized by the punk fans especially in U.K. and got some great feedback as their gigs were totally wild and out of control. After different line-up changes, the band recorded this fucking ace LP in 1985 under the mighty Mortarhate label with a running of 1000 copies that were sold in few months. This is the first ever official re-issue from the album, with the same artwork and insert in a limited edition of 500 copies.”

Part 1

Remastering Part 1 “Funeral Parade EP” on Sacred Bones Records.

Part 1 formed in 1980 and were part of the original London anarcho-punk scene. During the early 1980s they played a number of gigs, often withRudimentary Peni, who the band became associated with, as well as other acts operating around the London Anarchy Centres funded byCrass’ Bloody Revolutions 7”. Part 1’s final gig (before reforming in 2013) was at the 100 Club in 1983 with Subhumans.

The band’s only vinyl release during this time was the Funeral Parade EP , released in October 1982. As well as an anarcho-punk classic, the record is now regarded as a seminal deathrock release – largely due to the dark, heavily flanged guitar work, morbid imagery, and anti-religious lyrical themes. Indeed, Part 1 have been described as “England’s Ultimate Cult Deathrock band.” (CVLT Nation)

This very special reissue finally sees this lost classic receiving a long-deserved quality release: A remastered 12″ vinyl in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with accompanying horror zine I…Paraworm, packed with never-seen text and unpublished artworks from the pen of guitarist Mark Ferelli, all contemporaneous to the 1982 release.

In 2013, founding members Ferelli and Jake Baker (vocals), reformed the band with long-time admirer Chris Low (ex-Apostles, Oi Polloi, Political Asylum) on drums; later joined by David Barnett (ex-Adam & the Ants,Guernica, Lola Colt) on bass. Their first reformation show was at the Rebellion Festival that summer, 30 years after their last live performance. Since then, Part 1 have played a number of gigs to great acclaim and enthusiastic response with further releases and concerts scheduled for 2015.”

No Sir I Won't

Mastering No Sir I Won’t “Shit” 12″ on Drunken Sailor Records.

“Boston Anarcho Punks No Sir I Won’t return with their 4th record, Shit and in my opinion their best. Made up of ex and current members of Surrender Libyans, Witches With Dicks, Shithead, Brain Killer and Foreign Objects.
5 brand new songs of relentless, political punk. Where NSIW wear their Flux Of Pink Indians/ Conflict and Crass influences on their sleeves, they breathe new life into what had maybe become a stale genre.
No Sir, I Won’t play revolutionary anarcho-punk without plagiarism, but developed into a modern form. This is anarcho-punk at it’s finest, music like this makes you want to change the world. Exhilarating and thought-provoking, if you don’t like a message in your music this is not for you. No Sir I Won’t might just be one of the most important bands around.”

Vicious Pleasures

Mastering Vicious Pleasures S/T 7″ EP on 1859 and Different Kitchen Records.

“4 brand-new frantic tracks from this high-energy Portland punk outfit recorded by Stan Wright @ Buzz or Howl (Arctic Flowers)!

Steeped in the gloom of the Pacific Northwest, Vicious Pleasures play a dark & catchy and blend of Crass and Wipers influenced punk rock. Sara’s tuneful singing interplays nicely with Lisa’s hooky guitar riffs, backed by the solid performance of the rhythm section.”

Blood Robots L

Mastering Blood Robots S/T LP on Thought Crime Records.

“Members of that band seem to have been in pretty much every Punk or hardcore band from the U.K. in the last 25 years or so: Health Hazard, Ebola, One By One, Boxed In…you name them. Blood Robots started in 1982 and recorded 2 demos, a split flexi 7“ with Reality Control and a few compilation tracks. Here´s most of their recorded work combined on a record that has more than 40 minutes of superb and pretty unique Punk, that has been influenced by Swell Maps, The Fall and of course Crass.”

Frau

Mastering Frau “Punk is My Boyfriend” EP on Static Shock Records.

“Static Shock Records gets the honour of releasing the debut three track 7″ from London feminist punks Frau who feature members of Woolf and Good Throb. They released the much loved 8 track 10 minute demo on Tuff Enuff Records in late 2013 (which has now been reissued on LP by Dead Beat Records) and now return with three more short blasts of discordant and furious noise. ‘Punk Is My Boyfriend’ is a dirty and scratchy cut with pounding drums and an insistent guitar hook. It comes over like a mix of Pre ‘Cut’ Slits, Huggy Bear and Kleenex. ‘Snakeskin’ is possibly the only song in the world that could have appeared on both Crass’ ‘Bullshit Detector’ and any Kill Rock Stars compilation. Final track ‘Orca’ sounds like it could fall apart at any moment and just about makes the one minute mark. The guitars grind over a busy bass, heavy yet loose drums and explosive vocals. DIY has never sounded so good. Limited to 400 copies with hand stamped sleeves.”
