“Piss Test are an Andy Rooney-like figure in the Portland scene. Their music—a paean to the good ol’ days of proto-punk by way of Killed by Death compilations—refuses to adhere to what’s in vogue. Their subject matter, however, almost always reacts to their environment. Piss Test’sST EP2 dresses down punk superficiality with “Leather Jackets in the Heat,” while the recent PT ST EP 3 gripes against the economics and commodification of music with “Better Pay Your Publicist.” “Vegan Coffee” sneers at the tedium of monogamy and “Methamphetamine for Cocaine Prices” pokes fun at the trendiness of crank (I think). Remastering Sperma “Züri Punx” on Static Age Records.

“Originally released in 1979 on Urs Steiger’s label Another Swiss Label the punk anthem “Züri Punx” (“Zyt from flower power ish verbii / Woodstock ish shit GSII …”) by the group Sperma. This song expressed with his musical directness and their slogans like lyrics (“They träumed vo Punk and Anarchy”) very nicely the fierce determination of the first round. The following year, the song reappeared again with a new B- side (Sinnlos insteed of Bombs). Today, 35 years later Static Age Musik from Berlin did release for the first time all 3 songs on a single in an edition of 500 copies with the two original covers and some liner notes.”

Remastering The Vultures “At Home” on La Vida Es Un Mus Records.

“Official reissue of another of the scarcest Dutch punk records that was listed in the top 25 European punk rarities in Record Collector. THE VULTURES hailed from Epe, in the middle of the Dutch Bible-Belt. They recorded this 4 Track EP in 1981 that overtime has became impossible to find. Which is a shame as it is simply a masterpiece of Dutch Punk. Loud, proud and snotty, the sound is based around a trademark chainsaw guitar tone, plodding bass, passionate vocals and overall a clear UK influence. Without doubt if this band was english they would have been on Riot City, Rot or Secret Records or seen supporting the MAU MAUS, THE EXPLOITED or both DISORDER’s (Bristol and North East). Reissued replicating the artwork as originally printed but adding a few unseen full colour pictures on the reverse sleeve.”

Remastering Disorder for the discography collection “Fires LIght the Sky” on Thought Crime Records.

“If you might think this is not the „real“ Disorder, you better do your homework. This band from Sunderland in the U.K. formed in 1978, while the band from Bristol that gained popularity amongst the crusty scene formed in 1980. Also in my humble opinion the Sunderland band is much better and their famous „Air Raid“ must be one of the best Punk songs ever written. Halleluja!
Besides 2 songs that have been included on „Bored Teenagers“ Volume 2 compilation LP, this is the first time these recordings have officially been re-issued.
On here are 5 studio songs recorded in 1980, of which 4 had been released on their 2 fairly rare singles originally and 3 tracks recorded in a rehearsal in 1979.
This record is dedicated to the memory of singer Mark Rough who passed away on 27th Nov 2013.”

Remastering Suspense “Murder with the Axe” 7″ for La Vida Es Un Mus, another crucial release in Dutch punk history.

“I remember getting a letter from one of the DISORDER members who asked me to re-record him the SUSPENSE ep, because the song ‘ Crazy Sod’  got cut off before it ended. As a lot of punk bands, the NEO PUNKZ were influenced a lot by DISCHARGE (and not only musically) and in comparisation to the first ep, they sped up and had a distinct UK82 in sound (as well as their appearance). The subtitle of this record is; ‘ the end of the NEO PUNKZ , this is SUSPENSE’. They replaced one of the guitar players, recorded 3 fast songs and one longer and much slower one.

Again, this is one of the milestones in Dutch punk history and boy, don’t they look good in studs and leather. Essential.”

Remastering Neo Punkz “Fascist Fuckers” 7″ for La Vida Es Un Mus, one of the milestones in Dutch punk history.

“Back in 1980, punk was all about nihilism and not giving a fuck. Young punks got themselves guitars and drums and started their own band. So did a bunch of them who hailed from Haarlem, the exact same place Jesus and the Gospelfuckers came from. They recorded 5 songs that sounded snotty and raw. Obviously they did not care a lot about good musicianship and quality recordings and that might be exactly why this is such a great record. Snottiness that sounds natural and not as ‘ wanna be’  as a lot of bands these days. This is an essential record for people who like their punk raw and vicious.

Comes with 8 page booklet including the never before printed lyrics as well as lots of never before used pictures of this young punkz.”

“Honkas are a very raw punk band from Germany, and the production on this record only accentuates their primitivity. Some of the songs here almost degenerate into an undefined mass of guitar distortion, but others (like the title track) have more focus and drive. Pretty sharp.
