“Obraz is a deconstruction of reality to its basic forms and most. primitive elements. The starting point after maximum destruction. A. reconstruction towards a new reality. The world of images and a thousand spectacles, fragmented, dismantled and reassembled. Dynamism, rhythm, energy and movement. Creative sense over technique. Reality is a construction that we ourselves create. Belgrado delivers a blend of post-punk that takes its influence from many different styles and combines them together into a new form and rhythm. Carefully constructed sound compositions driven by feeling and the senses. Geometrical figures set in motion. Inspired by the mechanical pulse of minimal synth, the hypnotic sounds of dub, the atmosphere of psychedelic and African music, French cold wave, and the post-punk classics. The artwork is a collaboration between Jonathan Sirit, Camila Dunster and Patrycja Proniewska. It includes a 28 pages illustrated booklet.”

“Back in 1983 Tokyo’s NURSE released what probably is the first Japanese all female hardcore record on the cult label Incest Records (INC-002). A red 7” Flexi which showed 4 innocent looking girls on the cover but displayed an unheard amount of ferocious hard hitting hardcore punk on the 8 songs Flexi produced by Baki of EXECUTE/ GASTUNK. The Following year the almighty ADK Records added them to their roster releasing a 5 track EP (ADK-13E ) produced by label owner Tam of TYPHUS/ STALIN fame. The speed went down a notch but the rawness and aggression was still there. Sadly that record marked the end of NURSE’s recording career. Had they released an LP they’ll be heralded as highly as COMES which usually is the first band that comes to mind to most people when thinking of female fronted Japanese bands.

After years of their recordings been deleted on vinyl, both singles becoming absolute staples on any Japanese punk want list and the band’s underground following growing, La Vida Es Un Mus decided to repress both 7”s on a heavy weight LP to make sure a new generation discover the excellence of one of the all time great under rated bands.”

Standout track is ‘Pervert’ which is one minute and 56 seconds of post punk perfection which would happily sit on Rough Trade’s seminal 1980 compilation ‘Wanna Buy a Bridge’ in between Kleenex, Swell Maps and The Raincoats. “It’s been four years since Woolf unleashed their debut album, The Right Way to Play also on La Vida Es Un Mus and described as a “pungent spit on the face of musical normality”. Now they’re back with a dystopian revision of feminist queer punk. Born out of South London’s squats and social centres, all but erased in recent years by the Tory government, the four-piece have produced an album conveying alienation and activist fury, the opening track “Civilisation” setting the tone with the (rhetorical) question “is this what they call civilisation?”. Wall of sound guitar distortion provides a backdrop for a commanding, minimalist bass and insistent drums, with vocals that straddle the line between anxiety and paganity. It’s 11 unsettling songs in 11 uncompromising minutes, recalling the experimentation of no wave bands such as UT distorted by a raw punk aesthetic. (Melissa Steiner)”

“Official reissue of another of the scarcest Dutch punk records that was listed in the top 25 European punk rarities in Record Collector. THE VULTURES hailed from Epe, in the middle of the Dutch Bible-Belt. They recorded this 4 Track EP in 1981 that overtime has became impossible to find. Which is a shame as it is simply a masterpiece of Dutch Punk. Loud, proud and snotty, the sound is based around a trademark chainsaw guitar tone, plodding bass, passionate vocals and overall a clear UK influence. Without doubt if this band was english they would have been on Riot City, Rot or Secret Records or seen supporting the MAU MAUS, THE EXPLOITED or both DISORDER’s (Bristol and North East). Reissued replicating the artwork as originally printed but adding a few unseen full colour pictures on the reverse sleeve.”
