Skiplickers

Mastering Skiplickers “s/t” on Kids of the Lughole.

“Following their brilliant spilt 7” with Krigskontrast the Yorkshire Mangel Mongers bring us another Bass rumbling riff slamming throat-wrecked D-beat monster of a record. For Fans of (early) Anti-Cimex, Discharge and of course the Skitlickers”

Mastering Catholic Guilt “Cabin Fever” on Kim Pop Records.

“New release from this Austrian hardcore band. They’ve always borne more than a passing similarity to Sickoids, and they continue that pattern here, perhaps upping the Rudimentary Peni vibes even more.”

See No Evils

Mastering The See No Evils “Inner Voices” on Heavy Soul Records.

“The debut album from exciting new Leeds 4 piece The See No Evils.

Twelve tracks that deliver a sound rooted in a 60’s pop/garage sound, but with a modern twist which delivers the tunes from retrogression.

The two previous singles have proven that the band take influences from many genres over many years, be it 60s garage, 50 b-movie or 70s punk – no one track sounds the same.

Heavy Soul records are genuinely delighted to release this album!

Expect chiming guitars, impassioned vocals and songs that wont leave your head!”

Traitre Maxi 12in.jpg

Mastering Traitre “Dors Bien” on Les âmes d’Atala.

Taken from American Oi:

“In my previous review I already warned you guys that not one, but two Traitre seven inches will hit the streets this March. Where the first one is a two-track single, the second release, “Dors Bien”, is a full-blown EP with four brand new tracks! LADA Records, who also brought us the first two Traitre 45’s in 2014, has this slab of wax set for release on March 15th and comes in a total of 500 copies.

I already mentioned in my review on the “Humain En Vue” b/w “Un Pays À Détruire” single that Traitre delivered their best work to date. Since that 7” is coming out two weeks prior to “Dors Bien” I wasn’t exactly telling a lie, but I definitely think they top that single with this release! Because where “Humain En Vue” stood out with superb melodies, the “Dors Bien” EP stands out through sheer melancholy.

With hints of Manchester-alike post-punk mixed in their sound, there’s an apocalyptic feel to Traitre’s blend of Oi! and streetpunk that strongly reminds me of Criminal Damage and Blitz with a small touch of Warsaw / Joy Division to it. It’s funny how this band can merge completely different influences into each release, but still sound 100% Traitre. They amaze me with every single, EP or demo that has been released so far and “Dors Bien” is no exception!

Therefor I truly hope that Traitre will hit the studio soon again to record their first ever full-length album, because these guys sound more ready than ever! Don’t miss out on these guys and pick up “Dors Bien” and the single for Build Me A Bomb Records the moment they come out, you won’t regret it!”

Split Veins

Mastering Split Veins “s/t” on Godzilla Records.

“Debut album with 2/3rds of NAILBITER picking up where they left their previous band. 8 Distorted hardcore punk tracks with lots of delay which takes BOTH the golden era of Japanese and Sweden hardcore as template. One of the best London releases in a long time.”

Deep Heat

Mastering  Deep Heat “Still Life” on Poison City Records.

“Deep Heat never drop below 160 beats per minutes and deliver a polished set of rapid-fire post-punk that’s bursting with energy and so fucking righteous.” – Beat Magazine
Following the release of their 2013 10″/EP ‘New Design’ and Split 7″ with White Walls, Deep Heat members have been busying themselves with a variety of other projects; guitarist/ vocalist Gus Lord with the Stevens, Tyrannamen and Twerps while guitarist Alicia Saye and Jacquie Hynes also play in the dark-post-punk band Infinite Void.

Earlier this year Deep Heat headed back into the studio with Mat Robins at Coloursound (mixed by Steven Smith), emerging with a debut album that perfectly melds elements of 80’s UK post-punk, buzzy garage-punk and angsty Midwest rock. “I joke that Still Life sounds like a dry 70s pop record to me with some wanderings into 80s post punk and 90s lo fi indie rock. It’s more melodic but varied more in terms of pace and texture. Gusto (guitar/vocals) tracked lots of nice acoustic overdubs too. I’m really proud of this record and I feel positive and excited about its upcoming release and touring it” bassist Jacquie Hynes told Noisey/ VICE.

primetime-st-2

Mastering Primetime “Going Places” on La Vida Es Un Mus.

“Primetime return with their second EP ‘Going Places’ on La Vida Es un Mus. A four track EP of juvenile Joie de vivre. Each of the four tracks ooze sass, nonchalance and that special ingredient – songs that demand repeat listens. Standout track is ‘Pervert’ which is one minute and 56 seconds of post punk perfection which would happily sit on Rough Trade’s seminal 1980 compilation ‘Wanna Buy a Bridge’ in between Kleenex, Swell Maps and The Raincoats. You will not find something as instant and essential in 2016.'”
