Skiplickers

Mastering Skiplickers “s/t” on Kids of the Lughole.

“Following their brilliant spilt 7” with Krigskontrast the Yorkshire Mangel Mongers bring us another Bass rumbling riff slamming throat-wrecked D-beat monster of a record. For Fans of (early) Anti-Cimex, Discharge and of course the Skitlickers”

Potential Threat

Remastering Potential Threat “Demand an Alternative” on Beat Generation.

“First ever reissue since its official edition on Conflict’s label Mortarhate Records. 13 tracks of absolutely great and fast punk played as it has to be played, with high energy and rage. Limited edition to 500 copies, replica from insert and artwork. 180 grs. vinyl. POTENTIAL THREAT were formed in Blackburn in 1981, and recorded a couple of 7″ between 1982 and 1985. They played a lot of gigs with different bands as Discharge (their main influence in Pauline’s own words), Conflict, Crass and so on. The band started to be recognized by the punk fans especially in U.K. and got some great feedback as their gigs were totally wild and out of control. After different line-up changes, the band recorded this fucking ace LP in 1985 under the mighty Mortarhate label with a running of 1000 copies that were sold in few months. This is the first ever official re-issue from the album, with the same artwork and insert in a limited edition of 500 copies.”

Rodney Shades Band

Mastering Rodney Shades Band “In the Kingdom”

“Hip-swinging debut solo single from Thisclose front-man Rodney Shades. A double dose of hardrock from Rodney and his band, the Rodney Shades Band – ow!”

Taken from MORBUS BLAST BEATS:

“He’s back. The man with the voice which could wake up the dead. Rodney Shades, siren from hell in human form and under normal conditions the singer of Scottish D-beaters THISCLOSE (check em out, they smoke – pure DISCHARGE-worshipping D-beat of the highest order!), gives us a huge dosis of good old rock ‘n’ roll.

His new side project runs under the simple name: RODNEY SHADES BAND. Don’t think too long if you’re looking for a new band name – put your own name in front and that’s it. At least if you have such a talented crazy voice like Mr. Shades. But to get in touch with this here, you have to forget what THISCLOSE normally do. Even if the first song starts with a brutal guitar intro, things go into a different direction. This is midtempo hard rock/heavy metal music, rooted deeply in the first steps of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. You know – early Judas Priest, early Iron Maiden, noise from the end of the 70s or early 80s.

Bottom line: Wanna read a dumb blasphemous thought? If JUDAS PRIEST would need a new singer, RODNEY SHADES could be the one. I jope you enjoy this as much as I did.”

Suspense

Remastering Suspense “Murder with the Axe” 7″ for La Vida Es Un Mus, another crucial release in Dutch punk history.

“I remember getting a letter from one of the DISORDER members who asked me to re-record him the SUSPENSE ep, because the song ‘ Crazy Sod’  got cut off before it ended. As a lot of punk bands, the NEO PUNKZ were influenced a lot by DISCHARGE (and not only musically) and in comparisation to the first ep, they sped up and had a distinct UK82 in sound (as well as their appearance). The subtitle of this record is; ‘ the end of the NEO PUNKZ , this is SUSPENSE’. They replaced one of the guitar players, recorded 3 fast songs and one longer and much slower one.

Again, this is one of the milestones in Dutch punk history and boy, don’t they look good in studs and leather. Essential.”
