Mastered at NLBF: Snappin’ Brats “s/t” on Dangerhouse Skylab.

Released September 27, 2024

In 1988 the Snappin’ Boys released their 3rd and final album, “Domino Punch Out”. 35 years later, a bunch of kids from Croix-Rousse in Lyon (France) who had been fed up with the rock n’ roll roots of their elders decided to dust off some of the old hits that had marked their generation and make their own version, adding their own touch and influences. And so Snappin’ Brats was born!

This is a tribute to the rock scene in and around Lyon, from the late 70s to the present day.”

Taken from Soundflat: “Cool project from our friends The Beaten Brats (best gang in town) who invited Don Roberto Lapassade, legendary french singer (Killdozer /Snappin’Boys) to join them to sing two Snappin’Boys songs that appeared at the time on the Jeff Eyrich 1988 produced album “Domino Punch Out”… They thought that these tracks were too good to only be heard with this 80’s digital production, and decided to give it a second life with their incredible glam / punk / guitar sound signature, and they were damn right! Theo Charaf’s guitar is on fire, sounding like a 70’s Thin Lizzy / Cheap Trick chartbuster, while Pierrick and Joey’s rhythm section is paving the way for Robert’s voice, still soul and powerful as before… Produced by Pierrick Jullin at Java Club Studios, Chicago / Rhône, mastered by Daniel Husayn at North London Bomb Factory. Our friend Charly Markarian was also involved in this project to bring his fantastic guitar laying, but died two years ago, before the sessions began, this single is for him.”

Mastered at NLBF: Long Good Fridays “Closure” on Time & Matter.

Released June 21, 2024

“Time & Matter Records are delighted to announce the release of the brand new album by the Coventry based 3-piece Long Good Fridays.

‘Closure’ contains 11 brooding slabs of prime post punk, and the two paintings which have been used for the album’s front and back cover were licensed exclusively for this release by T&M.
They were painted by the renowned artist Colin ‘Colsk’ Latter (@studio_latter), who happens to also be the former frontman of the 1980s punk luminaries FLUX OF PINK INDIANS, and it was his iconic artwork that graced some of their influential releases.

The album also comes with a free sticker featuring Colin’s much loved ‘All The Arms We Need’ drawing and the accompanying CD booklet contains all the lyrics to the album.

LONG GOOD FRIDAYS are:

Jati Heer – Guitar & Vocals
Nathan Jessup – Bass & Vocals
James Taylor – Drums

ARTWORK STORY:

The story behind the artwork on the front and back covers of the album is something that delights the band’s bassist Nath, who grew up influenced by not only the punk and post-punk bands from the late Seventies and early Eighties, but also by the ethics and attitude of the DIY anarcho punk scene.

Colsk, who used to do all of the artwork for Flux, and also Spiderleg Records, plus some very early stuff on One Little Indian Records, has commented that he’s “delighted to be part of ‘sleeve art’ again after all these years. I love the idea of being involved in band artwork once more.”

His two large paintings used for the album artwork (90cm x 70cm) are entitled ‘Workshop Self-Portrait’ & ‘Vegas Wedding’, the latter (pardon the pun!) being based on a photograph taken at his step-daughter’s wedding.”

Mastered at NLBF: Videoflip “s/t” on Dangerhouse Skylab.

Released April 3, 2024

“The next release from our small (but strong) label Dangerhouse Skylab will land in record stores in early April, with this telluric 7-track Lp from VIDEOFLIP… The band was formed a few months ago around members of SCANERS / BEATEN BRATS / CLAIMED CHOICE / MOGS, in an extremely fast and spontaneous way, to exorcise their fascination for the Australian sound as for the British early pub rock prods… A few rehearsals and 3 days of takes, for an incredible result, DÉDÉ SCANERS dons his CHRIS SPEDDING / GYPIE MAYO suit on speed to machine-gun as many licks as deadly riffs as it’s possible to generate, rhythmic PIERRICK /JOEY slashes away with a machete and atomises everything in its path, while street punk vocals (?) from SWINDLE SIMON wedge his French lyrics in to finish the job. A couple of tracks benefit from harmo courtesy parts from our classy rock n’ roll veteran BUZZ HARPO, and here’s one of the most enjoyable releases of the genre, no knots in the brain but unparalleled effectiveness. Recorded at Java Club Studios (Chicago-Sur-Rhône), master by DANIEL HUSAYN at North London Bomb Factory, artwork by LULU LMNT.”

Released April 25, 2024

Legendary London Punk Rock formed in 1978 in Raynes Park featuring Dave “Fergie” Fergusson on vocals after he met Lol, John and Dave in a Punishment of Luxury gig at the London Marquee.
Oy! Oy! Oy! was written by John in mid-78. It was their first song. The first line of the lyrics was taken from kids TV show ‘Rainbow’! Were they the first Oy! band???
After various rehearsals at Dave’ s attic bedroom they managed to get their first gig at a youth club called “The Link” in Wimbledon
The first demo was recorded in a cheap studio in April 1979 and it almost secured them a deal with Chiswick Records but unfortunately the band split up later that year

The mini Lp features the whole 1979 4-track Demo plus previously unreleased rehearsal and live recordings. Total of 9 tracks of pure snotty punk rock like it is supposed to be done!

Remastered at NLBF: The Legion Of Parasites “Undesirable Guests” on General Speech.

Released March 27, 2024

“Long overdue official reissue of one of the most absolutely raging UK hardcore punk records. The first 12″ from 1984 by this cult band took the ferocity, and raw sound of bands like Discharge, Disorder, and Chaos UK, and blended it with the current anarcho-punk sound, a style that continued to gain traction with excellent bands like Anti-System, A.O.A., or S.A.S. High quality, no frills, 45rpm pressing with artwork and mastering that is faithful to the original. This reissue finally makes a full lyric sheet available as well, which is made from various promo materials the band sent out with letters during the ‘80s.”
